I have a Private car package policy No 2311100760027500000 which covers both Own Damage and Third Party damage of my vehicle Bearing reg no GJ06HD0837. On 12 Aug 2020 when I was driving to office, the car broke down due to entry of flood water, as there was light floods in Bhiwadi, into the engine and the engine failed catastrophically. The Insurance I have includes damages caused due to Natural calamities like Flood, Hurricane etc and there is no exclusion of damage to any part of the car including the Engine on account of Flood. The flood water as I am informed by the workshop had entered due to splashing through the air filter of the engine causing a catastrophic failure due to Hydraulic lock in the engine. My claim for the cost of repairs against my insurance was repudiated by the Insurance under wrongful pretexts which there is no specific exclusion to the nature of the damage in my policy document. I have further appealed to the Insurance Ombudsman who has also taken an erroneous view without a full examination of the case presented by me. I have given ample evidences to prove that the claim is within the inclusions of the Insurance package policy and there are also several past judgement pointing to the fact that my claim should clearly be honoured. I seek the kind intervention of the forum to restore the cost of repair and the incidental expenses and the compensation for the mental agony I have had to undergo on account of this wrongful dishonouring of my claim
