Lenskart Complaints Reviews Customer Care Number
I ordered spectacles worth Rs. 1680/- through Lenskart on 25th November, 2020 bearing Order ID : 1224070166. Since one of the screw was embedded and stuck in the hinge making the temple stick loose I took my specs for repair to the store in DB City Mall, Bhopal as I was in Bhopal at the time. After sending my specs to the warehouse the staff at the store informed me that there was some defect with my specs which could not be repaired. Further, since my specs were still in warranty they gave me the option of exchanging my specs for a new pair even though I was more interested in getting my specs repaired. Finally, I ordered a new pair of specs from Lenskart of the same cost bearing Order ID : 1228511632 on 28th June 2021, which was delivered to me on 1st July 2021. Within few days I started facing issues with these specs as well. Due to a manufacturing defect in these specs the screws on both the temple sticks would get loose which I had no option but to tighten a couple of times with Lenskart's screw driver but all my efforts were in vain. In and around 15th September, 2021 i.e. within 2.5 months of the purchase one of the screws became so loose that one of the temple sticks came off. Since I was in Jaunpur, U.P. when this happened where there's no Lenskart store I couldn't take my specs to any Lenskart store. In and around 17th September, 2021 after I reached Lucknow I took my specs to the store in Patrakarpuram, Lucknow, where Mr. Vipan attended to me. I gave him all the screws and parts of my specs that I had with me. After keeping my specs for almost 10 days and after multiple follow up calls and two follow up visits he gave me my specs back where he had not put the screws that I gave and in fact fixed the temple stick by putting glue which was not a sturdy and long term solution. When I told him the same he said that one screw was missing from all the screws and parts that I gave him and since one of the spare parts was missing this was the only way he could get it repaired. When I told him this temporary solution was not acceptable to me and requested him to check if the missing spare part could be replaced at the store or warehouse as this was not my fault and as the issue happened in the first place due to manufacturing defect, else replace the specs, he asked me to leave the specs at the store and told me that he'd get back to me in a couple of days. Thereafter, when I went to the store some other staff attended to me, after I apprised him of all the developments so far he told me that if a spare part was missing the specs can't be repaired or exchanged. I again told him that I had given all the screws and parts, more importantly it was a manufacturing defect and that's why the temple stick came off. Thereafter, I requested him to put my specs for exchange as the same was still in warranty. He placed an exchange request and on 1st October, 2021 I received a notification that my exchange request had been rejected.
Please note that I handed over all the screws and parts that I had in my possession and had it not been a manufacturing defect on Lenskart's part the screw wouldn't loosen up making the temple stick come off. Furthermore, it is Lenskart's policy that warranty will still be applicable if it's a manufacturing defect.
People purchase from known brands due to their quality assurance but these big brands cheat bonafide customers by selling substandard and/or defective product. These sellers cannot be allowed to take advantage of their own wrong of selling substandard and/or defective products and then shirking their liability of exchanging such products by putting clauses like "warranty won't be applicable if a spare part is missing". If the manufacturer/seller doesn't provide spare parts of the product they manufacture/sell then who else will? This devious strategy of Lenskart of forcing its customers into buying new specs from them by not repairing the previous specs has to be nipped in the bud. Despite being a bonafide customer I have been troubled to great extent, twice I have been given products that had some or the other manufacturing defect, I had to tighten the screws of my specs which was a tedious and difficult task as the screws were too small, I had to make multiple visits to the Lenskart store, I made several follow up calls etc., all this has caused me immense mental and financial harrasment.
It is my prayer that if my specs are eligible for repair and can be repaired by putting all the necessary screws then Lenskart do that, or in the alternative exchange my specs for another specs as they are still in warranty, or in the alternative refund the money paid by me towards the purchase of specs. Further, in addition to the above Lenskart be directed to provide me compensation to the tune of Rs. 5000/- for all the mental and financial harrasment caused to me.
I have annexed screenshot of my orders, pictures of missing spare part, temporary fixing of temple stick by putting glue, for your reference.
